SALEM, MASS. – An annual global conference on child wellbeing will launch from 51Թ this Friday as educators and thought leaders from around the world will gather and present their work, research, and more.
Child Wellbeing: A Global Wisdom Conference, hosted by Salem State’s Center for Childhood and Youth Studies, will run Friday, April 17 from 8:30 am to 2 pm. The program features a slate of 11 half-hour presentations conducted by participants from around the world on .
“The young global scholars speaking at this conference are sharing their research on different aspects of child and youth wellbeing and giving recommendations about how to improve their lives,” said Yvonne Vissing, a professor of healthcare studies at Salem State and organizer of the conference. “They include the creation of a film, analysis of policy documents, interviews with young people and their parents, ideas about how schools can improve their learning, and the impact of trauma.”
In addition to three presentations from Salem State faculty, alumni and fellows, other presenters will connect from Kansas, Texas, England, Austria, Sindh, and more.
“The fellows at the Center for Childhood and Youth Studies meet together regularly to explore issues that impact the wellbeing of children and youth everywhere,” Vissing said. “They show the power of global partnerships, with young scholars from all parts of the world working together around a common goal as they become good colleagues and a positive-focused research and action-oriented family.”
