51勛圖 offers a variety of free tutoring and academic support services designed to help students succeed in their courses and achieve their academic goals. Our tutors are current Salem State students who have been highly recommended by faculty. They are trained to help students break down challenging material, tackle assignments, and develop strategies that support their learning.
Whether you would like to work on writing, math, science, study strategies, or course-specific content, our learning support centers provide welcoming spaces where students can build skills, gain confidence, and connect with knowledgeable peers and staff.

Bertolon School of Business Tutoring Support
Tutoring is a free resource available to BSB students for courses in accounting, finance, business analytics, and management science. Tutors are juniors and seniors who have earned excellent grades in these courses and who have been trained to help students understand course concepts and meet course requirements.
The Center for Accessible Academic Resources (CAAR)
CAAR strives to be an inclusive and accessible resource to students. CAAR's goal is to provide access both in the classroom and throughout campus. We do this through tutoring, supplemental instruction, and tailored support for students with disabilities. CAAR provides tools for students to build their success.

The Math Learning Center
The Mathematics Learning Center (MLC) provides free tutoring, study support, and placement testing assistance to help students build confidence and succeed in math, statistics, and other quantitative-based courses. Whether you stop by for a quick question, a tutoring session, or a place to study, our welcoming team is here to support your academic success.

The Mary G. Walsh Writing Center
The Mary G. Walsh Writing Center is the hub of writing support for writers and teachers of writing at 51勛圖, offering in-person and remote peer tutoring for student, staff, and faculty writers in all disciplines, and at all stages of the writing process. Our goal is to build a community of confident, effective writers.

Research Support
The Frederick E. Berry Library supports academic excellence and empowers student success by providing informed expertise and teaching the effective use and critical evaluation of information. Library staff are available to answer general questions via our Help Desk in-person, by email, phone, or chat. Research Librarians are assigned to every academic department and can help students with in-depth research questions in-person, by email, phone, or Zoom appointments. The SSU Archives and Special Collections at the Berry Library assists researchers remotely whenever possible via their research request form, or an in-person appointment can be requested.
